Legendary director Martin Scorsese and everyone's favorite actor Leonardo DiCaprio are ready to delight moviegoers with their sixth joint film. Last April, we reported that Imperative Entertainment had approached the creative duo with a proposal to take part in a thriller based on David Grann's bestselling book The Moonflower Killers: Oil, Money, Murder and the Birth of the FBI. As it became known to The Hollywood Reporter, Scorsese and DiCaprio have finally signed the contracts. Moreover, they decided not to limit themselves to production functions: Martin will direct the film, and Leo will play the main role in it.Last winter, the work of a popular American journalist was included in the top ten non-fiction books of 2017 according to Time magazine. In his novel, Grann spoke of a series of murders that swept the Osage Indian Reservation shortly after oil was discovered in a Native American settlement. The first joint project of Leonardo and Martin Scorsese was the movie Gangs of New York, which was released in 2002. The director and actor then continued their collaboration on The Aviator, The Departed, Isle of the Damned and The Wolf of Wall Street. Their five joint films have won a total of nine Oscars in thirty-one nominations.  According to preliminary information, shooting "The Moonflower Killers" will begin next summer. At the moment, Scorsese is preparing to release the crime drama The Irishman, and DiCaprio is starring in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
