Beetlejuice played in the box
The beginning of April brought several sad news at once for fans of Tim Burton's work. At first, his new film "Dumbo" received cool reviews in the press and almost suffered a crushing fiasco at the start of the American release. Now the director has made it clear that he is scrapping work on the long-awaited sequel to his cult black comedy Beetlejuice.“I doubt the new Beetlejuice movie will ever see the light of day,” Burton told USA Today. -There has been no progress in the work on this project lately”. American journalists immediately contacted representatives of the Warner Bros. studio, who confirmed that "Beetlejuice 2" was indeed withdrawn from active development. The original film was released in 1988. The film was a hit with critics, became a box office hit and won an Oscar in the Best Makeup category.  The idea for Beetlejuice 2 came from Burton back in the early 90s, but in the end, the sequel went to the shelf. The WB management revived the project only eight years ago. The latest news about the film dates back to October 2017, when it became known that the studio decided to rework its script. Apparently, the text of the young Hollywood author Mike Vukadinovich could not impress either the bosses of the film company or Tim Burton himself.
