The sequel to the popular movie "Beetlejuice" is frozen, and its further fate is unknown. Director Tim Burton told the correspondents of USA Today about this. When asked to comment on rumors about a possible launch of the project into production, he replied that he had "nothing to say".

As for the future prospects for the continuation, the director limited himself to the following statement: "I don't know anything. I doubt it." Officials from Warner Bros. confirmed that "the project is not in active development."

Note that rumors that the picture may acquire a sequel have been circulating for many years. In 2017, information even appeared that the project had got scriptwriters. Lead actor Michael Keaton has stated, that he is ready to movie in the second part, if the concept satisfies him and if other parties are interested.

The movie "Beetlejuice" was presented to the audience in 1988. It also starred Alec Baldwin, Winona Ryder, Geena Davis, Annie McEnroe, Maurice Page and other actors.

The tape was a box office success, grossing $ 73 million on a production budget of only $ 15 million.
