Beetlejuice sequel returns to work

Image Back in 2011, fans of Tim Burton's Beetlejuice learned that Hollywood was going to shoot a sequel to the film. It would seem that all the stars converged. The script was taken over by Seth Graham-Smith ("Dark Shadows"), and Burton himself not only approved the idea, but was ready to act as a director. In addition, after some time, news emerged that the stars of the original tape Winona Ryder and Michael Keaton gladly responded to the offer to participate in the filming of the second part. Despite all the circumstances, work stalled, and the project went on the shelf.

However, it appears that Warner Bros. does not lose hope of releasing the sequel to the story of bio-exorcist Beetlejuice on the big screens. According to the portal Deadline, the studio handed the project over to Mike Vukadinovich, who will have to rewrite the script for the sequel. As for Seth Graham-Smith, he does not leave the team. Together with David Katzenberg, he will be producing the future film. And although no deals have been concluded yet, one can confidently predict the participation in the project of Tim Burton and Michael Keaton, who are currently working on a game version of the cartoon about Dumbo the elephant for the Disney studio. Both of them have repeatedly stated that they are delighted with the idea of reuniting on the set of "Beetlejuice 2", and their participation was once a fundamental factor for the launch of the film into production.

The mystical comedy "Beetlejuice" was filmed by Tim Burton in 1988 and eventually became a cult movie. With a budget of $ 15 million, she grossed more than $ 73 million at the box office, and also received an Oscar for Best Makeup.

The plot focuses on Adam (Alec Baldwin) and Barbara (Geena Davis), who are killed in a car accident and become ghosts in their own home. When the new owners, Charles Deetz (Jeffrey Jones) and his wife Delia (Catherine O'Hara), decide to rebuild the building, the heroes don't like it. All attempts to expel new tenants on their own do not bring success, since the living do not want to see the dead. This is subject only to the daughter of the Dietse, Lydia (Winona Ryder), as she herself is a very strange and unusual girl. To drive the aliens out of their home, Adam and Barbara decide to hire a private "exorcism specialist", Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton), but immediately begin to regret it.

Mike Vukadinovich's latest work is the screenplay for the sci-fi drama Remember Again starring Peter Dinklage, Henry Ian Cusick, Anton Yelchin and Julia Ormond. The producers of the sequel, Seth Graham-Smith and David Katzenberg, recently released the hit horror film It, which has grossed more than $ 600 million worldwide.
