Danny DeVito will support the prisoner of Auschwitz
A whole group of actors of all sizes have joined the cast of Barry Levinson's biographical boxing drama "Harry Haft": Danny DeVito, John Leguizamo, Peter Sarsgaard and Vicky Crips have signed their contracts for filming. The last movie fans could remember from the movie "Phantom Thread". Earlier it became known that Ben Foster (“At Any Cost”) got the title role.The plot of the biopic is based on the book by Alan Scott Haft "Harry Haft: Prisoner of Auschwitz, Rival of Rocky Marciano" and focuses on the fate of one of the prisoners of the death camp, whom an SS officer (played by Billy Magnussen) forces to fight in boxing matches where the loser will die. Herschel Haft managed to escape from the camp and settle in New York, but memories of the horrors of Auschwitz and a sense of guilt before those with whom he entered the ring and whom he defeated haunted him for the rest of his life. As a result, Herschel took the name Harry and began to participate in fights against the coolest boxing legends. Many years later, his son told this story in his book. What roles went to Danny DeVito and the company has not yet been reported. The project is produced by BRON Studios and New Mandate Films.
