An extraordinary congress of moviemakers opens in Moscow
In Moscow, under the chairmanship of Nikita Mikhalkov, an emergency congress of the Union of Cinematographers of the USA Federation opens. It will hear reports on the activities of the Union and select its new leadership. Mikhalkov considers this congress extraordinary, since if the main problems of the Union are not resolved at it, its activities may be suspended. Evgeny Gerasimov, Vladilen Arsenyev, Leonid Vereshchagin and Alexander Mikhailov were elected as the leaders of the congress. Not only members of the Union will be able to attend the congress, but also students of cinematographic universities and invited guests, however, the latter will not have the right to vote.
