Canon unveils new movie camera
Canon has made its first attempt to establish itself in the professional cinema equipment market. According to The Hollywood Reporter, on November 3, 2011, Canon CEO Fujiro Mitarai unveiled the Cinema EOS digital camera designed for movieing movies and television programs. The presentation took place at the Paramount Theater in the presence of hundreds of journalists and experts. According to the creators, the camera is equipped with a new 35mm CMOS sensor and is capable of shooting at Full HD resolution at 30 frames per second. At 720p, the shooting speed can be increased up to 60 frames per second. The cost of the device in the basic configuration will be about 20 thousand dollars.
