Academy Awards changed rules
The leadership of the American Academy has made a number of changes to the regulations for the Oscar. From now on in the nomination `` Best Cartoon of the Year '' animation pictures with a duration of 40 minutes or more may be presented. Previously, only cartoons with a duration of 70 minutes or more competed in this category. This change is explained by the fact that projects, the timing of which was within the range of 40 to 70 minutes, did not fall into any of the available nominations. Another change concerns the Best Special Effects category. Instead of three movies, five movies will be presented here. Recall that the Oscar 2011 ceremony will take place on February 27, 2011.
