Will Smith is set to star in the sci-fi thriller, tentatively titled The Time Seller, to be directed by 20th Century Fox. This is reported by The Wrap.

The plot will be built around a hero who sells seven years of his life for the opportunity to return to the past and relive the worst of his life.

The script will be taken over by Dan McDermott, who will take the director's post, has not yet been specified. Smith's involvement in the project casts doubt on his interest in the Independence Day sequel to be movieed by 20th Century Fox.
