Will Smith withdrew from Independence Day sequel (Topic)

Will Smith has officially notified 20th Century Fox that he will not be participating in the sequel to the acclaimed sci-fi movie Independence Day. This is reported by the publication Deadline with reference to its sources.

Thus, the authors of the original project, Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin, will be forced to use for movieing a version of the script in which there is no Smith's character.

Note that they previously claimed that, just in case, they prepared several versions of the continuation plot. The premiere of the movie " Independence Day 2 " scheduled for July 1, 2016.

Thus, 20th Century Fox is planning to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of the first part.
