MTV commissions production of Shannar's fantasy TV series
MTV has commissioned the production of a series based on Terry Brooks' popular fantasy series "Shannar". According to Collider, the series will consist of ten episodes. At the pilot stage, the production of which was ordered in December 2013, it was assumed that Jon Favreau would become the director of the project. However, due to a scheduling conflict, Favreau will take over as executive producer and share it with Jonathan Liebesman, who will direct the first two episodes of the series. As of this writing, Libesman is working on a Ninja Turtles reboot. The events in Shannar take place millennia after the destruction of our civilization.
