Universal Cable Productions has acquired the movie rights to the science fiction novel Spin by Robert Charles Wilson in serial format. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rob Morrow (North Side) and Leslie Urdeng (Beginners) have been nominated for the show. The channel is still selected.

The main characters in the post-apocalyptic drama are three childhood friends who witnessed the mysterious disappearance of stars. NASA studies have shown that the Earth is surrounded by a black energy barrier, and time beyond it runs billions of times faster. Civilization learns that in five years the Sun will destroy the planet. As they grow older, each of the trinity goes their own way and tries to come up with a way to save the Earth from destruction. But there is very little time left – will their friendship survive, and with it humanity?

"Spin" - the first book of the trilogy of the same name – in 2006 he was awarded the Hugo Award for Best Science Fiction Novel.
