Gillian Flynn, author of Gone Girl, has signed a contract with Entertainment One and Blumhouse Productions to movie her debut novel Sharp Objects for TV. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The plot of the novel, published in 2006, is centered on journalist Camilla Pricker, tasked with investigating the murders of two girls in her hometown, to which she is not eager to return ... Once in her old room in the family's Victorian mansion, Camilla begins to identify with the young victims. Possessed by her own demons, she must unravel the psychological riddle of her own past if she wants to write a sensational article and survive this visit to her home.

eOne Television and Blumhouse Productions will design and produce Sharp Objects, with Flynn as executive producer. Marty Noxon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) will write the script and act as showrunner for the project. Jason Bloom and Charles Layton will act as executive producers.
