CBS TV Series CSI Crime Scene Investigation will say goodbye in the current 14th season to one of the last actors to enter the original caste. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, for Paul Guilfoyle, who played Captain James Brass throughout the 14 seasons of the police procedure, this season of the show will be the last.

Paul Guilfoyle is one of two actors (the second - George Eads), who starred in the series in a recurring role from the beginning. His last appearance on the show will take place in the final episode of Season 14 on May 7, 2014. Sources claim that Guilfoyle's character story ended after a call from the producers. The actor himself, upon learning that he would not return to his role next season, gave an emotional farewell speech on the last day of movieing on Friday, March 21.

Series producers Carol Mendelssohn and Don McGill stressed in their statement that Paul Guilfoyle was not only a member of the original cast, but is himself an original in every sense of the word.

Paul Guilfoyle and George Eads have appeared in most episodes of CSI Crime Scene Investigation – in 312 at the time of this writing - since 2000.
