CBS commissions production of Supergirl
CBS has officially announced the production of the Supergirl series, dedicated to one of the most popular heroines in DC comics. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The main female role in the drama of Greg Berlanti is played by the star of "Losers" Melissa Benoist. Her heroine, Kara Zor-El, born on the planet Krypton, possesses the same super powers as her cousin Superman, but has to hide them from the moment she arrives on Earth. At the age of twenty-four, Kara decides to start using her superhuman abilities and become who she was always destined to be - Supergirl. A drama featuring Calista Flockhart (Cat Grant), Kyler Lee (Alexandra Danvers), Mehcad Brooks (James Olsen) and David Harewood (Hank Henshaw), created by Berlanti and Eli Adler with contributions from Andrew Kreisberg. CBS now has a key decision to make and find the best place in its programming grid for a youth-oriented superhero show.
