Calista Flockhart starred in Supergirl
Golden Globe Award winner Calista Flockhart ("Ellie McBeal") has been cast as a co-star in the upcoming CBS series "Supergirl." This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The main character of the drama, which has received an order for a full season, is Superman's cousin, Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist) or Kara Danvers, as they call her on Earth. According to mythology, twelve-year-old Kara left the dying planets of Krypton and went to Earth, where she was adopted by the Danvers family, who taught her to be careful with her supernatural powers. The twenty-four-year-old Kara, who had been suppressing her powers for more than ten years, had to use them during an unexpected catastrophe and betray herself. Inspired by her own heroism, Kara begins to use her abilities, to help the people of his city, and earns himself the nickname "Supergirl". Flockhart will play DC comics character Cat Grant, who is the media mogul and founder of CatCo in the series version. Kat, who started her career as a simple reporter, has transformed her company into an organization of global influence. Kara works as Gran's assistant. For Flockhart, her role in "Supergirl" will be the first regular since the series "Brothers and Sisters" and "Ellie McBeal", both of which ran for five seasons. In addition to Benoist, at the time of this writing, the cast includes Mehcad Brooks (Cruelty Required) as photographer James Olsen and Laura Benanti (Nashville) as Kara's mother.
