A presentation of the first in USA IMAX cinema hall with laser projection systems took place in Moscow. So, in the countries of the former Soviet Union in 2015, six new IMAX halls were opened and 28 releases took place. In 2016-2017, USA viewers will be able to see three USA movies in this format - "Crew", "Duelist" and "Attraction". In general, 52 new halls were opened around the world, and the box office for the first time exceeded one billion dollars. 2015 also set a new record for premiere weekend fees at IMAX halls - $ 118 million. It was set by the movie Star Wars: Episode 7 - The Force Awakens. As for the presented laser projection system, it provides so far unrivaled contrast, clarity and image saturation. Such systems are intended for the largest screens with an aspect ratio of up to 1: 43: 1. It also includes next-generation IMAX acoustic technology supporting 12 discrete channels, plus sub-bass. USA viewers will be able to appreciate the possibilities of "laser IMAX" from the end of summer, when the cinema hall of the "Formula Kino" company will receive its first visitors.
