Netflix will revive Gilmore Girls

Gilmore Girls is back on TV. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the streaming service Netflix is in talks to resurrect the hit dramatic comedy with creator Amy Sherman and co-stars – Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel.

According to various sources, Netflix intends to make four 1.5-hour movies, not a ten-episode series. The WB dramedy was a huge hit on the streaming service in 2000.

Gilmore Girls ran for seven seasons and has 153 episodes. The series' final seventh season aired on The CW, and David S. Rosenthal succeeded Sherman as executive producer after she left the project due to conflict with the studio. A potential Netflix project will give Sherman an opportunity not only to return to his brainchild, but also to have the final say.

At the time of writing, negotiations are underway to return the cast from the original cast, however, it is unlikely that Melissa McCarthy (Sookie Saint James). The actress has a busy movieing schedule for the upcoming feature-length projects Ghostbusters 3 and Michelle Darnell.

Netflix is also working on a revival of the sitcom Full House, which will be titled "Fuller House" and the next season of Arrested Development, which originally aired on Fox.
