Warner Bros. Film Studios still managed to persuade Matt Reeves to take the director's chair of a solo movie dedicated to Batman. According to Variety, this time we are talking about the contract officially signed by the parties. It is noteworthy that now Reeves is listed not only as the director of the movie, but also as its producer.

"I have loved Batman since childhood. He is such an inspirational and complex character and has always resonated with me. I am honored to work with Warner Bros. and bring viewers a new epic and emotional story of the Guardian of Gotham," commented Matt Reeves.

Recall that negotiations with Matt Reeves began almost immediately after it became known that Ben Affleck refused the director's post. However, after a while it was announced that the parties could not agree, and Reeves would not cooperate with Warner Bros. Probably, the studio was extremely interested in this particular director and offered him a new agreement, the terms of which suited him.

The shooting and rental schedules of the project at the time of this writing were not specified. Most likely, the solo Batman movie will be released worldwide no earlier than 2019. This is the first comic-based movie for Matt Reeves.
