Richard Castle, Kermit, Agent Carter and many other ABC characters will not be returning for next season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the public channel has canceled a number of its old and new series, including: Castle, Agent Carter, The Muppets, Nashville, Family and Galavant.

< ABC closed Castle after eight seasons, despite male lead Nathan Fillion being signed to play a potential ninth season, which was planned to be shortened. Before making a final decision on the comedy procedure, the producers of the series were ordered to movie two versions of the finale of the eighth season, which will air on May 16, 2016. Recall that the contract with the star of the show Stana Katik was not renewed, and for her, the eighth season of Castle would have been her last anyway.

The limited-episode series Agent Carter didn’t have high ratings in its first season either. To the surprise of many, the show with Hayley Atwell was renewed for a second season. With good criticism but disappointing ratings in its second season (1.4 million in key audiences and 4.3 million in total weekly viewers), the fate of the Marvel series was sealed.

"The Muppets," relaunch of the popular in the 90s of the series, canceled after the first season. The comedy series, which started in the fall of 2015, was created by Bill Prady and Bob Cushell. Despite its impressive start, the show has lost some of its audience, according to critics, due to overly depressing stories.

Music Drama "Nashville" starring Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere won't see season five. The channel's decision came as a surprise due to the show's popularity with fanbase and decent ratings.

The current season finals for Nashville and The Family will air on May 25 and 15, respectively. The second season of the musical comedy "Galavant" ended in January this year.
