The new original drama series "Damien" will premiere on A&E, not Lifetime, as previously planned. In addition, the series, which is currently movieing in Toronto, has grown from six to ten episodes. The announcement, made by A & E and Lifetime Executive Vice President and Director Rob Sharenau, is quoted by ComingSoon.

Glen Mazzarra's drama, produced by Fox 21 Television Studios, is a sequel to the classic 1976 horror movie Omen. The upcoming series stars Bradley James ("Merlin"), Oscar-nominated Barbara Hershey ("Portrait of a Lady"), Omid Abtahi ("Legends"), Magalyn Echikanwoke ("Supernatural") and David Munier ("Justice" ).

In the series, the audience will see the adult Damien Thorne (James), who seems to have no idea about the satanic forces that surrounded him throughout his childhood. Obsessed with the memories of the past, Damien must finally realize his essence and accept his destiny – the fate of the Antichrist. The most powerful woman in the world, Anna Rutledge (Hershey), will see to it that Damien fulfills his destiny. Damien's close colleague and loyal friend Amani Golkar (Abtahi) will have to decide which side he is on after he finds out who his buddy really is. Echikanwoke will play Simone Baptiste, a woman whose life turns into chaos after the tragedy. Munier is cast in the role of Detective Shay trying to sort out strange events centered around Damien Thorne.

Mazzara is the writer and executive producer with co-author Ross Fineman. Shekhar Kapoor has been appointed the director of the first episode. The ten-episode mystical drama will premiere this year.
