Showtime commissioned Jim Carrey's comedy I`m Dying Up Here
Showtime has commissioned the production of the hour-long comedy "I`m Dying Up Here," co-executive produced by Jim Carrey. The announcement was made during the Television Critics Association exhibition. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The project, which takes place in the 70s of the last century, tells about stand-up comedians who worked on the stage of Los Angeles and tried to find their place in a difficult business. The dark comedy stars Melissa Leo ("The Pines") and Erie Graynor ("Bad Teacher"). "I`m Dying Up Here" is written by former stand-up comedian Dave Flebott (" Will and Grace "). Kerry and Flebott will executive produce with Michael Aguilar and Christina Wayne (Mad Men ). The pilot is directed by Jonathan Levin (The Warmth of Our Bodies) based on the documentary novel by William Noedelseder. The project is produced by Endemol Shine Studios and Assembly Entertainment.
