Streaming service Hulu has commissioned the production of the half-hour comedy pilot Seth Rogen and his partner Evan Goldberg "Future Man". This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The main character of "Future Man" is a janitor during the day, and at night – first class gamer. After a visit from mysterious strangers from the future, it is revealed that from now on, his mission is to prevent the extinction of the human race, as he is the key to crushing the imminent invasion from the superrace.

Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir working with Rogen on the upcoming the cartoon "Sausage Party", will write the script and share the functions of executive producers with Goldberg, Rogen, James Weaver and Matthew Tolmach. Rogen and Goldberg will movie the pilot themselves.

The pilot will be produced by Sony Pictures Television, Point Gray Pictures and Matt Tolmach Productions.

At one time, several television networks showed interest in the project, including Showtime. Showtime President David Nevins mentioned a possible collaboration with Rogen during a recent Television Critics Association conference. Hulu executives stressed at the time that they would be releasing new episodes of the original series on a weekly basis, as opposed to the methods used by Netflix and Amazon.

In addition to Future Man, Rogen and Goldberg are movieing the AMC adaptation of The Preacher and the animated comedy "Bigfoot" for FX.
