Showtime continues to experiment with relaunches of famous projects. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the cable channel, currently working on the revival of the cult mystical series Twin Peaks, will movie a television remake of the American Gigolo crime melodrama.

On the development of the Paramount TV project and Jerry Bruckheimer, who served as executive producer on the original 1980 Paramount Pictures movie starring Richard Gere and Lauren Hutton, was announced exactly two years ago.

At this stage, the remake, which is set today, as Joined by Neil LaBoot (Van Helsing). In the center of the plot – young man providing escort services in Los Angeles, who falls in love with the politician's wife and at the same time turns out to be the prime suspect in a murder case.
