American Horror Story Season 5 Details Revealed (Topic)

The cast and creators of the American Horror Story anthology told the Television Critics Association what to expect from the fifth season of the series, The Hotel. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

As with any Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk projects, the plot details of the fifth season, which takes place in a haunted hotel, are kept secret.

Lady Gaga plays the lead role of an evil character. Katie Bates plays Iris, Angela Bassett – Ramona, Evan Peters – Mr. March, Matt Bomer – Donovan, and Sarah Paulson – Hypodermic Sally. Other roles are played by Finn Wittrock, Wes Bentley, Chloe Sevigny, Emma Roberts, Richard T. Jones, Denis O'Hare, Lily Rabe, Cheyenne Jackson, Max Greenfield, Darren Criss and Medken Amick.

Murphy has previously emphasized that all seasons of the FX anthology are linked and that characters from previous seasons will appear in The Hotel.

During the panel, the actors took turns sharing details about their characters – their names, who they are, or with whom they have a relationship.

Wittrock – a model named Tristan Duffy who seeks thrills and "finds them with the character of Lady Gaga and they have a lot of things to do together."

Jackson – Will Drake, a fashion icon who "tries to relaunch himself creatively" and moves from New York to Los Angeles. He is a father and "a little desperate".

O'Hare plays a character named Elizabeth Taylor and is fascinated by this immortal movie legend. "I'm not really playing a person, but someone who is inspired by her greatness. I shaved my head and the rest of the body for this role," said the actor. The character works in a hotel bar and is associated with the character Bates.

Sevigny – Alex Lowe, wife of Bentley's character, mother and doctor. The couple "suffered a great loss" and are struggling with its consequences.

Bomer – Donovan, a hotel resident closely associated with the characters of Gaga, Bates and Wittrock. "He has very interesting relationships with women," Bomer said about his character.

Bentley plays detective John Lowe, Alex's wife. He investigates horrific murders that lead him to a hotel where he decides to stay.

Bassett – Ramona Royal, who has a "really tense relationship" with the characters of Gaga and Wittrock. She is an actress and often visits the hotel, but does not live in it.

Bates – Iris, the hotel manager. "I have a relationship with the characters Matt Bomer and Wes and I hate the character Paulson, I just hate her. We have a very close relationship with Liz Taylor," said the actress.

Paulson – Sally, lives in a hotel and "hates Iris for a reason everyone will know very soon." She has a dark relationship with the character Bentley.

Murphy revealed that Gaga, who will begin movieing on August 10 and was not on the panel, will play the role of Elizabeth, the hotel owner. "She is a successful and experienced professional in the arts, fashion and public relations, that the upcoming fifth season will be similar in tone, claustrophobic feel and fear to the first season, Killer House. The series will also be set in Los Angeles and will focus on exploring American horror, including addiction. Since all seasons of the anthology are linked, you should expect familiar characters from previous seasons for the sixth or seventh episode of "Hotel".
