X-Men: Apocalypse Receives Huge Critics

Leading Western movie publications have smashed X-Men: Apocalypse, the next sequel to the popular 20th Century Fox series. At the time of this writing, the rating of the picture on the aggregator of professional reviews RottenTomatoes has dropped to 45 percent.

"A shocking drop compared to Singer's previous work on the subject. What once took off has now collapsed," wrote The Wrap author Alonso Duralde.

"The more the movie appeals to other X-Men episodes, the more you want to watch them again, and not this one," - echoes the reviewer of Empire Magazine Helen O'Hara.

"Despite the presence of a large number of action-packed episodes, X-Men: Apocalypse is a case where more doesn't mean better," adds The Hollywood Reporter's Todd McCarthy.

"The Apocalypse is certainly not a complete failure, but it is a movie with too many things besides the elements that really matter - novelty, creative solutions and entertainment," - stresses a reviewer for Entertainment Weekly.

The most succinct and comprehensive was the characterization given by the author of the Movie Nation, Roger Moore. “Maybe that's enough already?” He summed up.

The movie will be released in USA on May 19, 2016.
