Paul Thomas Anderson will script Pinocchio
Director Paul Thomas Anderson, who directed such famous movies as "Oil" and "Inborn Defect", got the opportunity to realize his old dream - to work in the same team with Robert Downey Jr. According to Variety, he will write the script, and possibly find himself in the director's chair of the movie "Pinocchio" based on the famous fairy tale by Carlo Collodi. Robert Downey Jr., one of the movie's producers, intends to play the role of the creator of the wooden boy Geppetto in it. Downey has been aiming for this project for several years, but only now it seems to really get off the ground. This may well have been due to the success of Walt Disney Studios in movieing other popular fairy tales. The creation of "Pinocchio" will be financed by the Warner Bros. Film Studio, the terms of work and a possible rental schedule have not yet been specified. Recall that Kollodi's fairy tale was movieed several times. The most famous is Walt Disney's animated version of Pinocchio, released in 1940. In 2002, Italian director Roberto Benigni presented a feature movie based on Pinocchio, and in 2016 viewers will see a new animated project, authored by Mexican director Guillermo Del Toro.
