Sony Pictures has given up movieing a movie called "The Unknown: Drake's Luck," based on the popular Uncharted game series. According to IGN, the movie is no longer featured in the studio's rental schedule. It was previously planned to be presented to viewers on June 30, 2017. There have been no official comments on this yet.

Note that Sony Pictures has been trying to make a movie based on the cycle for many years. Until mid-2015, Seth Gordon was listed as its director, but he left the project due to some creative disagreements with the new head of Sony Pictures studio Tom Rothman.

In the future, Joe Carnahan took up the preparation of the script, who repeatedly made it clear that he was ready to take the director's post. However, in the spring of 2016, the creator of the game, Neil Druckmann, said that he knew nothing about the timing of the project. "When they come to us and show us the finished script, we will naturally comment on what we think will work and what will not. I heard that they have a new scriptwriter, but since then there has been no information on this. we do not, "he said then. Since then, despite the already announced date of the premiere, there has been no information about the upcoming movie adaptation.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End was released on May 10, 2016.
