Matthew Broderick ("Godzilla") is on his way to New Orleans. The two-time Tony Theater Award winner received the lead male role in the second season of Ryan Murphy's anthology, American Crime Story, Katrina. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Broderick will play the head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency Michael D. Brown, who was responsible for the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Broderick will join previously cast as the female lead, Annette Bening. Recall that the second season of the anthology produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions will tell about the famous Hurricane Katrina and the consequences of its devastating actions in August 2005 on the southeast coast of the United States. Contributors to the first season of the anthology People vs. OJ Simpson are Courtney B. Vance, Sarah Paulson and Cuba Gooding Jr. according to unconfirmed information so far, they will be removed in the second season.

Of the recent full-length projects of Broderick – "Manchester by the Sea", "American Side" and "Side Rules". The actor's next TV work will be the dramatic comedy Bettyville opposite Shirley McLane.

Katrina will not debut on FX until 2018.
