Cable channel FX has commissioned the production of the third season of Ryan Murphy's new anthology American Crime Story, which will focus on the assassination of Gianni Versace. The famous fashion designer and designer was shot dead in July 1997 on the doorstep of his Miami Beach mansion by sociopath and serial killer Andrew Kyunanen, who committed suicide eight days later after police surrounded his home.
