The streaming service Amazon has decided to renew the New York Symphony Orchestra's "Mozart in the Jungle" series for a third season. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The decision was made less than a month after the series won the 2016 Golden Globes, receiving awards in two categories - – "Best TV Series - Comedy or Musical" and "Best Actor in a Series - Comedy or Musical" (Gael Garcia Bernal).

The series is executive produced by Roman Coppola, Jason Schwartzman and Paul Weitz based on the journalist's memoirs and musician Blair Tyndall about creative, passionate orchestra members and mind games mixed with political intrigue they engage in to survive.

In the third season of the show, Lola Kirk, Malcolm McDowell, Bernadette Peters, Hannah Dunn and Jason Schwartzman will return to their roles, while the talented musicians under the direction of the energetic conductor Rodrigo will go on tour in Europe. Production for Season 3 will begin later this year.

"Mozart in the Jungle is filled with creativity and passion, and offers viewers something truly unique," Amazon Studios CEO Joe Lewis said in a statement. “Amazon is proud to be that he has two of the most risky and exciting comedy series on modern television. "
