HBO renews Comedy Girls for Season 5 (Topic)

A few days before the premiere of the fourth season of the comedy "Girls", HBO officially renewed the series for a fifth season. "Girls" are regular nominees for various prestigious television awards such as Emmy. In 2013, the series won two Golden Globes for Best Series - Comedy or Musical and Best Actress in a Series - Comedy or Musical (Lena Dunham). Despite modest ratings on the show's airing day, DVR views are high.

The show is executive produced by Judd Apatow and Jennifer Conner, who shares the showrunner role with Dunham.
