Streaming service Hulu has announced the premiere of "11/22/63," based on Stephen King's novel of the same name. The nine-episode historical thriller will premiere on February 15, 2016, President's Day, which is traditionally celebrated on the third Monday in February. This is reported by Deadline.

This limited episode series follows English language and literature teacher Jake Epping (James Franco, "127 Hours") who uses a portal to travel back in time to prevent murder US President John F. Kennedy. The mission is threatened by Lee Harvey Oswald (Daniel Webber, "The Sleeping Beauty"), an out of place romance and the past itself, which fiercely resists every change.

Oscar-winning Chris Cooper (Adaptation), Josh Duhamel (Transformers), T.R. Knight (Grey's Anatomy), Cherry Jones (The Awakening), Sarah Gadon (The Enemy), Lucy Fry (Vampire Academy), George McKay (For Those At Sea), Nick Searcy ( Justice ") and Leon Rippy (" Deadwood ").

JJ Abrams, Stephen King, Bridget Carpenter and Brian Burke share the executive production functions. The first two episodes were directed by Kevin MacDonald ("The Last King of Scotland").
