Following the announcement of the appointment of Sarah Gadon ("Star Map") as the lead female lead in the TV adaptation of Stephen King's novel "11/22/63", streaming service Hulu has announced the names of the supporting cast and director of the nine-episode TV show. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter with reference to the video service.

Based on King's novel of the same name, published in 2011, the mini-series tells about the time traveler, school teacher Jake Epping (James Franco), who , finding himself in the early 60s of the last century in a suburb of Dallas, will try to prevent the assassination of US President John F. Kennedy. But the past doesn't want to be changed at all, and begins to resist.

Chris Cooper ("American Beauty" ) will play the diner owner and Epping's buddy, Al Templeton. It is he who is the discoverer of the portal of time and sends Jake to the past to save President Kennedy.

Cherry Jones ("Awakening") got the role of Margaret Oswald, mother of Lee Harvey Oswald, played by Daniel Webber ("Sleeping Beauty"). The role of Oswald's USA wife, Marina, went to Lucy Fry (Vampire Academy).

George McKay (The Challenge) portrays Bill Turcott, a young, artless bartender from the 60s who becomes Jake's ally.

Leon Rippi ("Stargate") has been approved for the role of disabled janitor Harry Dunning, who works in the school where Jake teaches in 2015. The tragedy that happened to him in the 1960s, when he was still a child, had a strong influence on Jake.

The miniseries are executive produced by Stephen King, JJ Abrams, James Franco, Brian Burke and Bridget Carpenter. The latter will write the script. Kevin MacDonald ("The Last King of Scotland") has been confirmed to direct the first two episodes.
