Studio Lucasmovie finally abandoned the production of the "Star Wars" spin-off, which was supposed to be dedicated to the bounty hunter Boba Fett. About this with reference to the head of the studio Kathleen Kennedy reports the publication Geek Tyrant. Instead, resources will be focused on the creation of the television series "The Mandalorian."

Recall that in May 2018, the creator of the movie adaptation of the "Logan" comics James Mangold was appointed to direct the movie about Fett. It was expected to start work in early 2019.

Boba Fett's origin story was told in Star Wars: Episode 2 - Attack of the Clones. According to director George Lucas, Fett was one of the clones of his father, the famous mercenary Jango Fett, who asked the creators of the army of clones from the planet Kamino to make an exact copy of him. Fett Sr. raised Boba as his son and in the short period of their life together managed to prepare him for future adventures in a distant, distant galaxy.

In the Star Wars cinematic universe, Boba Fett collaborated with Vader and Jabba the Hutt and died in the lair of the Sarlacc sand monster. However, he would later be "resurrected" in printed sequels.
