The 1917 movie won the Directors Guild's main award
Sam Mendes' war drama "1917" continues to collect prestigious professional awards of the highest dignity. To the already existing regalia was added one more - the award of the American Directors Guild. Mendes' rivals were Martin Scorsese ("The Irishman"), Quentin Tarantino ("Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood"), Bong Joon-ho ("Parasites") and Taika Waititi ("Jojo Rabbit"). A Guild Award for Best Television Comedy went to the creators of Barry. Among the dramatic projects, the team of directors of the movie adaptation of the "Guardians" comics was named the best.
