Taika Waititi and Bong Joon-ho win major screenwriting awards

The Writers Guild of America has presented its 2019 awards. In the nomination "Best Original Screenplay" the award was given to the creator of the movie "Parasites" Bong Joon-ho, and in the nomination "Best Adapted Screenplay" the leader was Taika Waititi, the author of the movie "Jojo Rabbit".

The latter published on his The official Twiyyet page shows a photo of him with his South Korean counterpart. "The buddies who won the tail of a humpback whale calf," says Waititi's caption under the picture.

In the TV section, the best scripts were for the series Heirs (drama) and Barry (comedy). The Best Screenplay for a New Series went to the creators of the comic-based show "Keepers". Among the miniseries, the winners were "Chernobyl" (original script) and "Fossey / Verdon" (adapted script). In the animation section, "The Simpsons" were recognized as the best.

Recall that earlier Taika Waititi and Bong Joon-ho also received the British Film Academy Awards (BAFTA 2020) for the best screenplays for their movie projects.
