Joseph Kosinski to direct a fantasy movie for Netflix
Streaming service Netflix has found a director for its new movie "Spiderhead", based on the short story of the same name by acclaimed American writer George Saunders. It will be Joseph Kosinski, best known for his fantastic movies "Tron: Legacy" and "Oblivion". The publication Deadline reports this with reference to its sources. Sources for the publication claim that Kosinski will begin casting and movieing Spiderhead as soon as he completes the Top Shooter sequel, Top Gun 2, in which Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer will return to their glorious roles. Spiderhead is set in the not too distant future. Criminals serving prison terms have a chance to reduce their sentences by participating as test subjects in medical experiments. When a prisoner is tested on a new pharmaceutical product that can induce feelings of love, he begins to doubt the validity of his emotions and intends to find out the truth. The script was prepared by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who worked on the Deadpool and Welcome to Zombieland dilogies. Reese and Wernick have already collaborated with Netflix – wrote the script for Michael Bay's action movie "The Grave Six" with Ryan Reynolds.
