Robert De Niro to star opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in Martin Scorsese's drama
Robert De Niro will join Leonardo DiCaprio in the new movie directed by Martin Scorsese. This is reported by the Geek Tyrant. Their joint project will be based on the novel Killer of the Flower Moon by writer David Grann. The novel describes real events. At the end of the nineteenth century, the Osage Indians were driven from their lands into what was then believed to be completely useless territories in northeastern Oklahoma. However, it soon became clear that their reservation was located above one of the largest oil fields in the United States. To get the right to extract this oil, the prospectors had to pay rent to the tribe and deduct a portion of the profits. By the 1920s, members of the tribe had become extremely wealthy. And then they started dying under mysterious circumstances. The recently formed FBI was investigating the case. The screenplay will be prepared by the famous Eric Roth.
