Owned by Warner Bros. New Line Cinema won a tough competition to movie the American remake of the popular Korean horror movie, Train to Busan. This is reported by the publication Deadline.

It is alleged that the script for the Hollywood version will be prepared by Gary Doberman, who worked on the movies "It" and "The Curse of Annabelle". James Wang is going to be the producer of the project. The timing of the project has not yet been specified.

Recall that the original movie was released in South Korea in 2016. The action of the picture takes place against the backdrop of the rapid spread of a mysterious virus that turns people into carnivorous zombies. Passengers on the Seoul-Busan train are forced to join forces to try to escape.

The movie was a huge hit with audiences and grossed $ 87 million worldwide. However, in North America, it went almost unnoticed, its gross in this market barely reached two million dollars.

Note also that Korean cinema has more than once been noted for high-quality disaster movies or horror movies, which were in demand on international market.
