Director Rocketman will direct a movie about a Dracula fan
Universal has not abandoned its plans to develop the so-called Dark Universe, which will feature the most popular monsters from its library. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the director of the movie "Rocketman", dedicated to Elton John, Dexter Fletcher will movie the story of Renfield, one of the main fans of Count Dracula. This character was mentioned in Bram Stoker's novel "Dracula" as a patient in insane asylum, tormented by the obsession with drinking blood, believing that in this way he will gain immortality. He worshiped the vampire king, who fed him insects and rats as a reward. Renfield has appeared in several movie adaptations of the work, including the 1992 movie Bram Stoker's Dracula. Unlike the literary source, the new version will be largely comedic. The project will be based on ideas that the creator of The Walking Dead series, Robert Kirkman, suggested to the studio. The latter will also be the producer of the movie. The rental schedule has not yet been confirmed.
