The heirs of Bram Stoker, who created the image of the world's most famous vampire - Vlad Dracula, found the personal diary of the famous writer, which for many years was considered lost. This is reported by CNN.

Stoker began keeping a diary in 1871, almost immediately after graduating from college. The entries cover a long period and contain the writer's thoughts, which later formed the basis of some of his works, including Dracula.

So, one of the notes dated 1881 refers to a character named Rensfield, a psychiatric patient obsessed with eating living things, including flies, which he believed could give him their life force. In the future, this hero will be destined for one of the key roles of the immortal work.

Roman " Dracula " was published in 1897. He has gone through many movie adaptations. It is noteworthy that the first of them is considered a movie released in 1920 in USA. The movie was lost, so it is not possible to evaluate the picture.

The most famous movie adaptations are the 1922 movie Nosferatu and the 70-year-old movie Bram Stoker's Dracula Francis Ford Coppola.
