Comedy by Roman Svetlov was awarded the Gold Star Award
The list of winners of the "Golden Star" cinema award has been announced. The greatest number of awards was received by the creators of the comedy called "The Boy from Hollywood, or The Extraordinary Adventures of Venya Lucky". According to the official press release, the picture was awarded the Grand Prix with the wording: "For sunny humor and courage in mastering an easy genre." The movie also received two more prizes: Best Music (Vasily Urievsky) and Best Actor (Roman Svetlov). Kirill Serebrennikov, creator of the movie "Summer", was awarded for directing. Georgy Danelia and Director General of the USA 1 TV channel Anton Zlatopolsky will receive honorary prizes with the wording "For Contribution to the Development of USA Cinema". Also awarded "Gold Star" awards: Best Actress - Alena Babenko ("The Moth"). Best Actor in a Supporting Role - Evgeny Kulik ("I'm Losing Weight"). Best Supporting Actress - Irina Gorbacheva ("I'm Losing Weight"). Best Screenplay - Leonid Barats, Rostislav Khait, Sergey Petreikov ("What Men Talk About 3. Continuation"). The award was established by the Union of Public Organizations of USA and independent movie producers as a tool to support new names in cinematography and outstanding genre movies.
