Epic Games has started a war with Apple and Google. All Unreal Engine applications may be removed from the App Store
This weekend, in just a few hours, Epic Games has unleashed a full-scale war with Apple and Google. As Epic Games struggles with company monopoly, it has hit the App Store and Google Play with 20% off V-Bucks. Epics introduced the Epic direct payment system to Fortnite on mobile, which allows you to buy in-game currency directly by paying developers without a commission to the store.
This immediately caused consequences in the form of the fact that Apple deleted the game from its store on the same day, and immediately after a couple of hours it disappeared from Google Play. In response, Epic Games sued Apple and even made a special video in honor of this, which parodies Apple's famous "1984" ad.
At the moment, the confrontation has led to the fact that the "apple" company is going to remove all applications with Unreal Engine from its store on August 28 and disconnect it from the iOS and Mac systems. The distribution will include third-party applications created on this engine.
This step will lead to the fact that developers massively begin to abandon the epic engine, which will severely hit their business. Epic Games wants Apple to be banned in its lawsuit:
In its lawsuit, the company says that Apple is deliberately attacking Epic's business, since it has no complaints about the company's engine, but blocking the Unreal Engine will cause it critical damage. In addition, third-party developers will simply ditch the engine and Epic will not be able to support it.
How this battle will end - we'll see in the future. It is worth noting that Epic Games was most likely aware of the risks, as it has long opposed companies that have created a monopoly on virtual purchases of games and applications that violate American fair competition laws.
The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword may be coming to Switch
As often happens, a new yet unannounced game was found in the backyard of Amazon. This time it's the Switch version of Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword. So far, the game has nothing but the name. However, the developer is listed as Nintendo, and the price of the product is ? 69.99, which is a full price in the UK.
Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword was originally released for Wii and required a special version of the controller with motion support [the game was sharpened for swings and other manipulations]. Therefore, the company can easily adapt such controls for Nintendo Switch. However, the second version of the Lite console does not have removable controllers, so it is not known what will happen with the version of the game on it. Although, who knows, the big N might just come up with a special control on it.
At the moment, the page with the game has already been removed, but of course, the screenshots remain. Rumor has it a themed event this month to announce the Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword on Switch, as well as a reissue of Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit.

Black Marsh in Beyond Skyrim
Beyond Skyrim is a large-scale project in which enthusiastic modders recreate all of Tamriel on the Skyrim engine. The developers have released their fresh diary. In it, the Black Marsh: The Roots of the World team shares how they are recreating Black Marsh.
Black Marsh is home to the Argonians and is located in southeastern Tamriel, bordering Cyrodiil and Morrowind. This is a swampy area with a huge amount of ruins and secrets. So, the developers promise that during the journey we will be able to find the armor of the extinct race of Cotring. The region is also rich in unusual flora and fauna, such as swamp jellyfish or sea dragons.
But besides the jungle and swamps, there are densely populated cities like Gideon. The city's architecture is so ancient that scientists in Tamriel still do not know its origins.
The team is currently looking for scriptwriters, 2D and 3D artists, and level designers to help. You can apply to participate in the development here.
