New HUAWEI and HONOR Products (Topic)

The Chinese company HUAWEI, like most manufacturers in this country, is gradually emerging from the state of stagnation caused by the coronavirus pandemic. This is evidenced by the dynamics of sales of its products and the appearance on the market of several new products. They were presented during the enterprise's online conference on March 30th. Some of them came out under the HONOR brand. Let's talk about this in more detail.

Smartphone with new processor

On March 30, the HONOR 30S smartphone was announced in China, which became the first device of the current flagship line. The device is equipped with the latest chipset capable of working in fifth-generation networks, a minimalistic screen and a camera with a 64 megapixel main sensor.

The device received a 6.5-inch display made using IPS technology. In the upper left corner of the screen, the manufacturer has placed a small cutout for the sensor of the 16-megapixel front camera.

It's worth noting that the display has a 96% NTSC color gamut and HDR support.

The main camera block is represented by four sensors: the main one with 64 megapixels, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle one, a telephoto lens of the same resolution with a 3x optical zoom and a 2 megapixel lens for macro photography. It supports slow-motion video recording at up to 960 fps and electronic stabilization using artificial intelligence.

The basis of the hardware stuffing of the device is an eight-core Kirin 820 processor with a modem that allows the device to work in fifth-generation networks. It features Kirin Gaming and GPU Turbo technologies for enhanced gaming performance.

High performance is ensured by the presence of 8 GB of RAM. The built-in storage can have 128 or 256 GB in reserve.

A 4000 mAh battery with fast charging functionality up to 40 W is responsible for autonomy. The charger can charge the battery up to 70% in half an hour.

Additionally, the HONOR 30S is equipped with IP68 water and dust protection, USB Type-C and 3.5mm connectors. Access is secured with a built-in fingerprint reader in the power button.

The device will go on sale on April 7th. Customers will be able to purchase one of two modifications: 8/128 GB for $ 338 or 8/256 GB for $ 380.

Together with HONOR 30S, another smartphone was shown - HONOR Play 9A. It has a large screen, dual main cameras and a large battery.

The device received a 6.3-inch IPS-display with a resolution of 1600x720 pixels and a teardrop notch for a selfie camera. The “heart” of the device is the eight-core MediaTek Helio P35 chipset with 4 GB of RAM. The built-in storage can be 64 or 128 GB.

Interestingly, the slot for two SIM-cards got one more place. It will come in handy if you want to expand your internal memory using microSD cards.

Two sensors of the main camera of the device have a resolution of 13 and 2 megapixels. The 8MP front-facing camera activates the face recognition functionality. In addition, security of access is ensured by a fingerprint scanner located on the rear panel of the device. AKB has a capacity of 5000 mAh, supports fast charging with a power of 10 W. Operates smartphone OS Android 10 with proprietary shell Magic UI.

The HONOR Play 9A will also go on sale April 7, priced from $ 127 to $ 169.

Two new routers

In addition to two smartphones, HUAWEI showed two AX3 and AX3 PRO routers that are capable of supporting Wi-Fi 6+. This technology has a faster data transfer rate than the Wi-Fi 6 version. This is made possible by the ability to dynamically adjust the bandwidth when the signal is weak. The manufacturer assured that all products of its brand have 160MHz bandwidth. This figure is 45% higher than that of Wi-Fi 6, equipped with the 80 MHz standard.

Additionally, the new technology allows for stable operation in 2 MHz mode.

Both routers are powered by the Lingxiao 650 chipset with a clock speed of 1.4 GHz. The PRO version is distinguished by the presence of two amplifiers and the ability to quickly connect the device via NFC. To do this, you just need to bring it to the router.

The manufacturer assures that the data transfer rate that the new generation routers are capable of reaching is up to 3000 Mbps.

The cost of new products was not reported.

HONOR 30 will be the flagship of the brand

At the end of the review, we will tell you about the company's plans. The HONOR 30S has already been mentioned above. The smartphone turned out to be quite functional and advanced. But it is not destined to become a flagship device. It will be HONOR 30. HUAWEI is still silent about this, but insiders have already received information on this matter. They also learned about some of the nuances of the technical equipment of the device.

The HONOR 30 device will be equipped with the top-end Kirin 990 5G chipset and a camera with the main Sony IMX 700 sensor of 50 megapixels. There will also be two lenses with a resolution of 12 and 8 megapixels. The latter sensor is believed to be a 3x optical zoom telephoto lens.

Nothing is known about other characteristics yet. The smartphone will be released in May this year.
