Many gamers have been waiting for this day for 12 long years: Valve has finally presented to the public a new part of the legendary shooter series - Half-Life: Alyx. Of course, this is not the third part, not a continuation of the story that suddenly ended abruptly, but the participation of familiar heroes and the views of their native City-17 on modern graphic technologies may make fans of the series pay close attention to the project. And not only fans of the series, because Half-Life: Alyx is the first AAA blockbuster for virtual reality devices. And in this article, we have collected all the main details of the new Valve game. The first trailer for Half-Life: Alyx demonstrates the recognizable panoramas of City 17, created using the latest version of the Source 2 engine. At the same time, we can say with full responsibility that Alyx is, at the moment, the most beautiful game for VR. Together with the trailer, the developers released the first screenshots of Half-Life: Alyx.    According to Valve, the new game should become a project that will push forward gaming on devices for virtual reality, and at the same time spur sales of the company's own VR-device called Valve Index. Additionally, the developers have confirmed that a free download code for the game comes with Index. If you want to buy Half-Life: Alyx on your own, then pre-order is already available on the official game page on Steam at a democratic price of 1,085 rubles (986 rubles, taking into account the current discount). Separately, we note that to play Half-Life: Alyx, you do not need to purchase a Valve Index kit worth almost $ 1000. The developers have confirmed that the new project in the Half-Life universe is compatible with several third-party VR headsets.  The first details of the Half-Life: Alyx plot have also appeared. The game takes place before the start of the events of Half-Life 2, when Eli and Alyx Vance wage an underground war against the forces of the Alliance, terrorizing humanity after the "Seven Hour War". Note that the developers have attracted completely new actors to the voice acting of Alix and Eli, Ellen McLain is still responsible for the voice of the operator of the alliance, and Mike Shapiro will once again take over the voice acting of G-Man. The duration of the game is not less than that of the previous parts of the series. It takes an average of 12 to 15 hours to complete the game. Development of the game began in 2015 and many Valve veterans were involved in the creation of Half-Life: Alyx, who participated in the creation of all releases in the Half-Life series. Separately, it is noted that the game is being developed with an eye only on virtual reality devices, making the most of VR capabilities. Active interaction with the environment, physics-based puzzles and so-called "instinctive" battles are expected. Apparently, this means high dynamics of the gameplay.  In addition to the lengthy single player campaign in Half-Life: Alyx, players will be able to download custom levels and mods from the Steam Workshop created using the Hammer editor. As a small bonus, all players who purchased the Valve Index helmet before the end of this year can look forward to cosmetic content for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2, inspired by the Half-Life universe. Well-known game journalist and permanent host of The Game Awards Jeff Kayley has already managed to visit Valve's office and complete Half-Life: Alyx.
