![]() No matter how hard they try to surprise console platform holders with productive hardware and innovative features in advertising for next-generation consoles, games for most players remain the main reason to buy a console. Therefore, on the eve of the release of the Next-Gen device from Sony, we decided to bring together all the most anticipated games for the Playstation 5, which the future owners of the console should definitely not miss. Please note that some of the games in this selection are available on PC, but none of them are announced for the release of Xbox Series X or any other Microsoft consoles. 1. Demon's SoulsRelease date: 2020-2021 Despite its status as a pioneer in the Souls genre and the Dark Souls trilogy released by From Software, Demon's Souls is still a unique role-playing game, which, if something has aged, it is only in appearance. The task of correcting this deficiency fell on the shoulders of the talented Bluepoint studio, noted for the first-class remake of Shadow of the Colossus. True, in the case of the Demon's Souls remake, the developers act a little more courageously and often not only modernize, but also rethink the design of the game world and opponents in the cult RPG in their own way. How successful the idea turned out, according to insiders, we can find out this year. ![]() 2. Ratchet and Clank: Rift ApartRelease date: 2020-2021 The new Ratchet and Clank looks like a game designed to unleash the technological capabilities of the Playstation 5. On the one hand, we have a story about Dr. Nefarius, who opens numerous spatial rifts into other dimensions, along which, thanks to the PS5's fast SSD, you can navigate with almost no downloads ... On the other hand, the first gameplay video shows a futuristic city full of reflective surfaces, on the example of which the benefits of using ray tracing technology are clearly visible. In other words, we have before us the real Next-Gen, which is scheduled for release in the console release window. ![]() 3. Destruction AllStarsRelease date: unknown If you have recently been perplexed by the scarcity of racing games on Playstation platforms and the generally low variety of projects in the genre, then Destruction AllStars is definitely worth paying attention to. Created by natives of Bizarre Creations (Project Gotham Racing series), the new arcade racing game is another version of derby, or survival races, where the victory is not always awarded to the one who first came to the finish line. Apparently, a multiplayer-oriented project awaits us, but the storyline campaign is also announced. ![]() 4. GhostWire: TokyoRelease date: 2021 GhostWire: Tokyo is a new project from the legendary game designer Shinji Mikami, who has established himself as the creator of creepy and sometimes even revolutionary games. We do not know how revolutionary the project will be, but a trip to Tokyo abandoned by people, filled with evil spirits of the Immigrants, will obviously not leave shy players indifferent. As a genre Mikami this time chose paranormal FPS, the combat system of which the developer describes as a mixture of "karate and magic". ![]() 5. ReturnalRelease date: unknown Putting our hand on our hearts, we admit that Returnal does not yet look like a project capable of unleashing the power of Playstation 5. But at the same time, a conceptually extremely interesting project looms before us: according to the plot of the game, the main character after the crash of a spaceship gets into a time loop and is forced to constantly respawn in a randomized world. As a result, Returnal is a rare representative of a story-driven game with gameplay that combines third-person action and roguelike elements. ![]() 6. Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles MoralesRelease date: 2020 The sequel to the hugely successful "Spider-Man" from Insomniac Games was not long in coming, and this fall we will be able to wear the "friendly neighbor" costume again in Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. So far, only the very minimum of information is known. The most important thing is that we are not facing a full-fledged sequel, but a large-scale addon, where Miles Moralez will play the main role, having his own superpowers. Peter Parker will return as mentor, set in New York during the Christmas season. ![]() 7. DeathloopRelease date: Q2 2021 Talking about the most anticipated games for Playstation 5, it would be a real crime not to mention the new project from Arkane - Deathloop, which is also coming to PC. The developers have remained true to their own traditions and in the person of Deathloop they are preparing another immersive sim that offers a wide range of tactical solutions for passing levels. The main difference from previous projects is the presence of a time loop, forcing, in case of failure, to live all the tests anew and interspersing of multiplayer, where, like Dark Souls, you can invade the world of another player in the role of the hostile girl Julianne. ![]() 8. Gran Turismo 7Release date: unknown Of course, the collection of games on the Playstation 5 could not do without the continuation of the legendary series of racing simulators Gran Turismo. The seventh part of the series has no release date yet, but promises to be the golden mean between the classic and new releases of the franchise. The familiar GT, Brand Central and Discover modes are complemented by the return of fine tuning and modification of cars, traditional race tracks, GT Simulation Mode and a number of other features familiar to fans of the series. Support for ray tracing, Tempest Audio engine and all Dualsense features to simulate driving on various surfaces is promised. ![]() 9. Horizon Forbidden WestRelease date: 2021 Horizon Forbidden West is perhaps the potentially strongest exclusive for the Playstation 5, which, according to the first trailer, given the colossal detail and scale of the open world, looks like a full-fledged new generation project. According to the plot of the game, Aloy goes to the west and is forced to face an epidemic that poisons the soil and kills all living things. The vastness of the world this time will stretch from Utah to the Pacific Ocean, opening up for exploration not only a variety of above-ground biomes, but also the ruins of civilization under water. ![]() 10. Kena: Bridge of SpiritsRelease date: 2020 Kena: Bridge of Spirits is as if it was created according to the patterns of cartoons for children - a bright, colorful design of the game world and the main role is the girl Kena, who has magical powers, calls for the help of cute creatures and, of course, fights against evil forces. Such charming and bright games are always lacking in the industry, so we look forward to the launch of PS5, at the same time with which players can go on Ken's dangerous adventure in a fantasy world. ![]() 11. StrayRelease date: 2021 Once again, Annapurna does not disappoint and is preparing an unusual adventure game Stray for PS4, PS5 and PC owners, from one view of which you want to throw money into the monitor, hoping to see the game's shortcut on the console now. Is it possible to pass by a project where a traveling cat acts as the main character and all this is framed by a fantastically beautiful cyberpunk world, where robots have taken the place of people? So we think it's impossible, so we hold our breath for the details of the game. ![]() 12. Sackboy: A Big AdventureRelease date: unknown The list of exclusive games for Playstation 5 will not do without a co-op project - Sackboy: A Big Adventure - inspired by the 2.5D series of platformers Little Big Planet. As in the original games, the gamer controls the Sackboy rag doll and, having enlisted the support of players (up to a maximum of 4 in a team), must go through levels full of dangers, relying on the support of comrades and even more on their own dexterity. The main difference from Little Big Planet is the lack of a level editor and a 3D camera perspective. ![]() 13. Project AthiaRelease date: unknown Project Athia is one of the most curious and at the same time mysterious projects, announced as a temporary exclusive for PS5 and PC. On the game, the developers have shared only crumbs of information: we are waiting for an Action-RPG in the open world, which, most likely, will become part of the Final Fantasy universe. The engine was chosen by Square Enix's own development - Luminous Engine, an early version of which was used to create Final Fantasy XV. ![]() 14. Solar AshRelease date: 2021 Another unusual project Annapurna is going to release next year exclusively for PS4, PS5 and PC - a surreal and, judging by the trailer, literally dizzying adventure of Solar Ash. The game takes place inside the Black Hole, called Ultravoid, where many worlds touch each other and both lonely lost souls and giant monsters live. As we can imagine, freeing the former and fighting the latter are our main goals in Solar Ash. ![]() 15. Astro's PlayroomRelease date: 2020 Finishing off the main Playstation 5 games on the Astro's Playroom platformer, which comes with every console for free. Despite its free-to-play status, we definitely don't recommend passing by Astro's Playroom, as the project is positioned primarily as a multi-hour platformer designed to unleash all the unique features of the PS5, paying the most attention to the features of Dualsense adaptive triggers. After all, Astro's Playroom is a direct sequel to Astro Bot Rescue Mission, which rightfully bears the title of one of the best platformers for PS4, so there is no doubt about the quality of the new game. ![]() On a separate line, we will mention the unannounced games, but the future owners of the Playstation 5 can count on their release: new parts of God of War, Days Gone and Ghost of Tsushima. The latest releases of each series have shown extremely good financial results so far, so there is little doubt that we will see their sequels in one form or another. Also, do not forget about the new project Naughty Dog and the reboot of Silent Hill and Final Fantasy XVI, existing from the words of numerous insiders. Before the release of the next generation consoles, we also suggest reading our detailed material, where we compare in detail Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X.
