Honor 20 Lite Smartphone Review

Several new devices have entered the smartphone market over the past few months. Almost all of them are located in the budget and middle price ranges, which should contribute to good demand for these devices. Let's talk about one of these gadgets from the Honor brand.

Characteristics and external data

A quality smartphone Honor 20 Lite is equipped with a 6.21-inch IPS-display with a resolution of 2340 ? 1080 pixels, with a pixel density equal to 415 ppi. Its hardware is based on an eight-core Hisilicon Kirin 710 processor with a clock speed of 2.2 GHz. It is powered by the ARM Mali-G51 MP4 graphics accelerator, 4/6 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of internal memory.

The device operates using the Android 9 Pie operating system, with the EMUI 9.0.1 add-on. It is equipped with sensors: FM-receiver, lighting, gyroscope, noise cancellation, proximity. There is also a flashlight.

The rear panel fingerprint scanner and face recognition functionality are responsible for security. Autonomy is provided by a 3400 mAh battery.

The device received a triple unit of the main camera with sensors of 24 megapixels (with an aperture of f / 1.8), 8 megapixels (f / 2.4 wide-angle 120?) and 2 megapixels (f / 2.4).

The front camera has a 32MP lens.

The smartphone comes in black, blue and red cases. It has the following geometric dimensions: 154.8 ? 73.64 ? 7.95 mm, weight - 164 grams.

The device looks beautiful, partly due to the use of gradient colors. It has glass panels and an aluminum frame. The device fits comfortably in the palm of your hand, you can use it with only one hand.

At the bottom there is a speaker, MicroUSB port and 3.5 mm audio jack, on the contrary, there is a slot for two NanoSIM cards or a MicroSD card. Volume and toggle buttons are located on the right side.

It's a shame that the Honor 20 Lite lacks water and dust resistance and does not come with a protective case.

Display and cameras

The smartphone screen is well readable, it displays data well too. Smart resolution functionality is available to switch between HD + and Full HD +.

The downside of this unit is the presence of faded colors. Even switching to expressive display mode instead of normal does not help here.

At the same time, the display has wide viewing angles. Responsiveness when working with him is also at a high level. The brightness level meets the requirements of the discerning user. It is adjustable so that the screen does not dazzle in the dark and conveys information well when using the device in the sun.

It's nice to have an eye protection mode from excessive color exposure and a function that allows you to customize applications that are individually necessary on the desktop.

The smartphone takes high-quality photos, and from wider angles than competing counterparts. Especially noteworthy are macro shots that have excellent blurring effect.

The camera is equipped with nine modes and several filters. This allows you to get interesting pictures.

Performance & Software

The Honor 20 Lite's performance level matches the niche it occupies. He's average here. You should not expect something supernatural from the budget hardware. Not the most advanced processor works here, and 4 GB of RAM is not enough.

Navigation through device applications is carried out using three system buttons and full-screen gestures. The latter are mastered quickly. There are several features that most EMUI smartphones come with, such as digital hygiene, party mode, accidental call prevention, etc.

Security and Autonomy

Practice has shown that the device has good protection from outside encroachments. Faces are recognized almost instantly, only at night due to lack of light there are delays.

The sensor of the fingerprint scanner does not cause any complaints either. An exception is the use of a wet or dirty finger.

The battery of the product does not have high autonomy. It only lasts for five hours of continuous display operation. Comes with a 10W charger, no fast or wireless charging.

Another disadvantage of the smartphone is the presence of a monaural speaker, which produces terrible sound quality. Using headphones or Bluetooth speakers improves it dramatically.
