After the presentation of the Cyberpunk 2077 trailer at E3 2018, CD Project once again showed who the most important stars in the RPG genre are. But no matter how impressive the video of the new project of the Poles is, it is still not clear what kind of game it will be, and how much it will have in common with the Witcher. Game journalists who watched the private 50-minute presentation were quick to share the first details of Cyberpunk 2077 and were delighted with what CD Project is preparing for us.

The most important innovation compared to The Witcher trilogy is that Cyberpunk 2077 will only have a first-person camera and the game feels like The Witcher 3, Deus Ex and GTA V at the same time. The possibility of switching the camera perspective to a third-person view is not currently being considered, cut-scenes will be shown from the third. But you shouldn't start scribbling angry letters to the Poles, the game is declared as an RPG with shooter elements, and not vice versa. And the overall scale, the number of role-playing elements and the non-linearity of quests will exceed anything we've seen before in The Witcher 3.

The main character will be fully voiced, the possibility of choosing the gender and appearance of the protagonist is also announced. Before the very beginning of the game, you will need to decide on the starting characteristics of the character: physical strength, physique, coolness, reflexes, knowledge of technology and intelligence. In general, everything is according to the precepts of the original board game.

Over time, players can choose a character class: Rockerboy, Corporate, Netrunner, Solo, and Techie. At the same time, no one puts you in a box, you are free to make a unique hybrid with the best abilities from each class. Augmentations, perks and other ways of character development are also available.

Types of weapons are divided into several classes, there are even high-tech samples that shoot homing bullets. The shooter gameplay of Cyberpunk 2077 is described by journalists as “fast and tactical”. You can slow down time, slide under cars, bounce off walls and shoot from cover. There will be many ways to kill enemies, including firing blades from your hands.

You can move in transport from both the first and third person. There will be cars, motorcycles and even lethal weapons. At the same time, it is possible to fire while sitting behind the wheel, in this case, artificial intelligence takes over the vehicle control.

The interface will be extremely minimalistic and authentic, but when the battle begins, additional indicators appear on the screen. There is also a separate mode that allows you to closely inspect objects and thus learn new information about the game world or take useful information to complete tasks.

Anyone who, after the Cyberpunk 2077 trailer, was indignant because of the too rainbow style, you can relax. Of course, the game will have a full day and night cycle, and the game itself is created only for an adult audience and will be full of dark shades and ambiguous choices. By the way, about the elections: nonlinearity and the dialogue system have not gone anywhere. In addition, it is reported that depending on your current skills, the methods of completing Cyberpunk 2077 may differ. For example, without leveling your hacking skill, you will not be able to get through a closed door, but no one bothers to look for alternative ways.

The explicit nudity of male and female characters is also mentioned, while you can invite a “call girl” to your apartment and watch the corresponding cutscene.

The only thing that left some journalists confused is the street rating system. It is she who affects whether you can get to certain areas of the city in Cyberpunk 2077 and get new quests. To improve your street rating, you can, for example, put on a new jacket, there will be a lot of options.

In general, absolutely all journalists who watched the gameplay of Cyberpunk 2077 are inclined to believe that the real Next-Gen awaits us. In all aspects, from graphics, elaboration of the world and ending with the gameplay itself. They do not skimp even on such compliments as “phenomenal” and “great”. Well, very encouraging. But when the gameplay will be shown to mere mortals - it is not reported, we hope that in a month, as it was in 2014 with The Witcher 3.

And a little surprise. The journalists were allowed to shoot a few seconds of the gameplay demo on camera, and it looks amazing.

There are still no further comments on the Cyberpunk 2077 release date, expect a release in the coming years. We are confident that CD Project will not disappoint fans and Cyberpunk 2077 will eventually be able to take one of the leading positions in our top of the best RPGs of all time.
