Design differentiation is often used to distinguish a particular gadget from the crowd. This is the way Vivo is trying to create competition in the middle class of smartphones with colleagues from Xiaomi. One example of such an approach is the apparatus, which will be described in detail below.

Characteristics and appearance

The mid-range smartphone Vivo Y7S is equipped with a 6.38-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340 ? 1080 pixels with a pixel density of 403 PPI. Its aspect ratio is 19.5: 9, Schott Xensation 3D Protection glasses are used to protect against damage.

The basis of the hardware filling of the device is the eight-core Helio P65 MT6768 processor, the Mali G52 chipset is responsible for the graphics. There is also 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. The latter can be expanded up to 256GB using microSD cards.

On the rear panel of the device there is a triple block of the main camera. Its main sensor received a resolution of 16 megapixels. Together with him, an 8 megapixel lens for ultra-wide shooting and a depth sensor with a resolution of 2 megapixels are working.

The selfie camera has a 16MP lens.

The device received a non-removable battery with a capacity of 4500 mAh, which relies on an 18 W charger for fast charging. The smartphone is equipped with sensors: accelerometer, ambient light, electronic compass, gyroscope. The operating system is Android Pie with the Funtouch OS 9.0 add-on.

The gadget weighs 179 grams, measures 159.53 ? 75.23 ? 8.13 mm.

The package of delivery of the product, in addition to itself and the charger, includes a case, headphones, a bracket for removing the SIM card tray, instructions with a warranty card.

Users note that the device visually stands out from the general mass of their own kind. Its front panel has a large percentage of usable area, which is slightly below the maximum due to the teardrop notch for the front camera. The gradient color of the back panel looks good. There are practically no frames here, but in the lower part there is an immodest "chin".

Interestingly, the developers used Schott Xensation 3D protective glass, and not analogues of more famous manufacturers. It is not yet known how well it will protect the device from scratches and damage.

Many people note the good fit of the device parts and the high quality of the components. Interestingly, the engineers at Vivo used an unconventional solution by installing a physical Google Assistant power button.

Display and cameras

Display Vivo Y7S surprises with the saturation of the color gamut and its accurate reproduction. The manufacturer got it right with the resolution. Any kind of content is easy to read and looks clear. Its maximum brightness of 400 nits will be enough to use your smartphone even on a sunny day.

I would also like to note the company's concern for users, which consists in installing a special protective film on the screen from the factory.

The main lens of the rear camera of the gadget is equipped with a Sony IMX499 sensor, which gives hope for good photo and video capabilities of the device. However, this is not quite true. His shots leave much to be desired. The lack of dynamic range is immediately noticeable in the photos taken with the main camera. Almost all images have poor detail and increased saturation settings. The operation of the shutter, which has a long response time, is depressing. Sometimes, because of this, it is not possible to take a clear shot the first time. HDR does not significantly improve images.

If we talk about the quality of photos taken in low light conditions, then they are also not of the best quality. They have limited detail and a lot of noise.

At the same time, it is worth noting a large number of additional camera settings that can confuse an inexperienced user. Most of them will almost certainly not be in demand, and the most famous ones do not significantly improve the quality of the data received.

Software & Performance

The Vivo Y7S software, on the whole, does not cause great complaints in its work, but there are questions about the Funtouch OS 9 add-on. It slightly breaks the usual algorithm of using applications such as Google Maps, YouTube.

Not many will like the presence of about 20 preinstalled programs, the need for each user to use raises questions. But there are a lot of animated programs here. As in the cases with analogues of such a device, the ability to control gestures is available.

Thanks to the installation of a good processor, the gadget gives out good performance indicators. However, it should be noted that such parameter as multi-threaded performance is reduced here. Therefore, power-hungry applications start slightly slower than on some smartphones with similar parameters.

Sound and autonomy

This unit has received equipment that contributes to the presence of loud and high-quality sound. Using headphones only improves it.

The battery has an autonomy that is above average. One charge is enough for two days of active use of the gadget. It takes just over two hours to fully recover.
